County Sheriff's Office will not file any charges against the Subway Clerk who they say shot and killed a suspect after an armed robbery.County deputies say at around 12:30 Sunday afternoon two men with crow bars tried to rob the Subway on Gordon Highway. Investigators say during the attempted robbery, one of the suspects struck the clerk's 14-year-old son, who was in the store at the time, in the head with the crowbar, injuring the teen. That's when deputies say the clerk fired shots at both of the suspects. One of the gun shots hit Cornelius Lamar Harrison, 24, from Greensboro, North Carolina in the upper torso and later died.

A 19-year-old clerk who shot an armed robber in his mother's corner store said the incident hasn't made him skittish. If an armed suspect tried to rob the store again, Daneurys Santo said he wouldn't hesitate to pull the trigger again. "He come again, I do the same," Santo said from behind the counter of Madera Bros. A homeowner shot and killed an apparent would-be robber, according to Kentucky State Police. Four armed people forced their way into the home and took an undisclosed amount of cash, according to state police. Several people, including children, were in the home at the time but no one was injured. During the robbery, according to state police, an altercation occurred between the homeowner and one of the robbery suspects. Kevin J. Helton, 48, of Salt Lick, was shot and killed at the scene, according to police.
